This tour is the mini-version of our "Complete Golf Cart Tour of Tarpon Springs" focusing strictly on the history of the early settlement and founding of the downtown area and the Sponge Docks. The tour shares how and why Tarpon Springs became the first incorporated city in what is now Pinellas County by sharing the stories of some interesting people, seeing several restored preserved and restored buildings, and visiting some of the natural sites important to the city’s growth.
