Upon meeting your host and presenting your Viator voucher, you will receive a brief lecture on the history of Jubilee Years. During this time, you can also settle payment for any optional services you may have pre-booked, such as a private one-way transfer to the Vatican, a digital guide to St. Peter’s Basilica, a skip-the-line ticket to the Dome, or a skip-the-line ticket to the Vatican Museums.

St. Peter's Square

A short walk from the meeting place to St. Peter's Square provides an opportunity to stop at the main Vatican Gate and capture a photo of the renowned Swiss Guards. At St. Peter's Square, your host will give a brief lecture on the history of St. Peter's Basilica and St. Peter's Tomb. They will also point out the Sistine Chapel in the distance and its chimney, which signals the election of a new Pope during the Conclave.

As you now approach St. Peter's Basilica and the Holy Door, your host will point out the most important sights not to be missed in the church: the Pietà by Michelangelo, the tomb of John Paul II, the Baldachin altar over the tomb of Peter the Apostle, Bernini's Cathedra altar with the Seat of St. Peter, and the crypt with the tombs of Popes.
