Depart from downtown Nagoya in the morning, Kamikochi Hiking Route 1: Taisho Pond - Tashiro Pond - Kappa Bridge: Recommended for friends who are visiting for the first time! This 3.5-kilometer route takes about 1-1.5 hours to walk, the whole journey is flat and picturesque along the way. From the dreamy dead trees of Taisho Pond to the tranquil wetlands of Tashiro Pond, and finally arriving at the iconic Kappa Bridge in Kamikochi, every step is a visual feast! Route 2: Kappa Bridge - Myojin Bridge - Hotaka Shrine Okumiya & Myojin Pond**: For experienced hiking enthusiasts, this 5.6-kilometer route will take you to explore the deeper beauty of nature. Starting from Kappa Bridge, passing the quiet Myojin Bridge, walk to the Hotaka Shrine Okumiya. The mountains and riverside scenery along the way, especially the quiet time by the Myojin Pond, let you immerse yourself in the embrace of nature. Taisho Pond: A beautiful lake formed by volcanic eruptions. The dead trees in the lake show different dreamy scenery with the change of seasons, which will make you linger! Tashiro Pond: This shallow wetland shows charming natural scenery in the new green of May and the yellow leaves of October. The thin ice in late autumn adds a mysterious beauty. Kappa Bridge: As a symbol of Kamikochi, you can overlook the Hotaka Mountains, Yakedake and Azusa River from the bridge.
