You might have had numerous encounters with the Maasai people while on safaris but most of the time, that is staged authenticity where they put up a show for you as they receive tourists on hourly basis. An authentic experience of any tribe in Kenya cannot be found close to tourist routes. This village is exclusive for Happy Tribe only and at the end of the day we leave you to judge the authenticity of this experience. This becomes more of an experience than a tour as you participate in in what Maasais do daily. From cooking ugali in a manyatta, beadwork, lighting a fire traditionally, milking a goat, dancing, singing and jumping with the Maasai people, you get to do them all. While on this tour, feel free to investigate and ask regarding the exploitation of such vulnerable poor people by tour companies. We might be the only company that pays the maasais that turn up individually separating even a mans money from his wife. Payment is done via Mpesa to everyone present.

This is the first town along the way outside of the Nairobi Metropolitan area and is predominantly Inhabited by the maasai people. Travelers get to see the vast plains of Kajiado, hills and the extensive vegetation. They also get to see herds of animals e.g. goats, donkeys and cows. Like any town in Kenya, all forms of economic activities are seen here.
If you happen to make this tour on a market day(Monday or Friday), then you get to see firsthand the booming livestock market full of animals for sale. Maasai beadwork, herbs and attires are also traded. In the midst of the beautiful chaos, you will always find souvenirs as you interact with the unique Maasai culture.
Maasai village experience: Get to learn Maasai words, learn beadwork, milk a goat, get into a manyatta and cook some basic meal,dance and sing with the village members.

- We allow donations - clothes, school supplies, kids toys, teaching aids, food items(cooking oil, maize flour, dry grains etc.), and any other items helpful to a needy community.
- Carry money incase of donation or purchase of souvenirs.
- Be flexible with time especially when in a group though we try to be back at Nairobi before 4p.m. Traffic and bathroom/coffee/lunch breaks affect our timing.
- Professional CAMERAS or commercial photography is NOT allowed.
- We inform you on pickup details on the previous night before the tour.
- There is no bathroom at the village. We make 2 bathroom stops along the way.
- The drive is about 2.5 hours one way.
- This is a very safe tour.

Additional Information
Pickup time is between 7 - 8a.m. If you book this tour for Sunday, be prepared to be picked a little early - 7a.m. Pickup information will be sent out to you on the previous night before the day of the experience. Make sure to eat breakfast before pickup. We are always back before 4p.m. If all factors are favourable, we can drop you at the airport if you are to leave on the same day. Kindly do not loose internet until we inform you of our arrival at the designated pickup area. We offer Pickup from the Jomo Kenyatta Internation airport. Kindly be quick to avoid excess parking charges. Incase you happen to be outside our pickup area, kindly get in touch with us for directions to the meeting point or special arrangements. Incase you are within our designated pickup area and it is not possible to pick you because of distances between other persons, we request and pay for a cab for you to bring you to the meeting point. Incase you are sharing this tour with other persons, Kindly be considerate and tolerant. Incase of anything amiss, report or talk it out with the guide.
