Located on the mountainside of Mt. Arakura, Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine was established in 705 as the guardian shrine of the Arakura region in ancient Kai Province. In 807, after a major eruption of Mt. Fuji, a special ritual was conducted here by an imperial envoy to pray for peace and safety across the land. Today, the shrine is known worldwide as a scenic viewpoint of Mt. Fuji and a famous cherry blossom spot. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views of Mt. Fuji through the iconic red torii gate or from the observation deck, where the combination of the five-storied pagoda, Mt. Fuji, and seasonal cherry blossoms creates an unforgettable landscape.
Enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view featuring vast lavender fields along the lakeshore, the serene waters of Lake Kawaguchi, and the majestic presence of Mt. Fuji.
Formed by a lava flow from Mt. Nagao, a flank volcano of Mt. Fuji, the Fugaku Wind Cave stretches 153 meters through the Aokigahara Forest. This lava cave is known for its icicles, lava stalactites on the ceiling, and classic features of volcanic caves. You can choose between two cave options: Narusawa Ice Cave (for advanced hikers) or Fugaku Wind Cave (for beginner to intermediate visitors).
