The Beauty of the North Tour
This tour will take you from Fairbanks to Summit Lake with various stops on the way and will give you a view into a side of Alaska that is normally reserved for Alaskan Residents.
Stops will include but are not limited: • The Knotty Shop • Big Delta State Historical Park • Trans-Alaskan Pipeline • Sullivan's Roadhouse • Restaurant in Delta Junction • Summit Lake. Make sure to dress weather appropriate and we recommend to wear some sturdy shoes to be able enjoy this trip.

The Knotty Shop
On our way towards the Paxson lake, we will stop at the Knotty Shop. A unique woodworking shop featuring birch wood carvings as well as a variety of other local art and the best ice cream in the area.
Big Delta State Historical Park
As we continue our tour, you will have the opportunity to explore the Big Delta State Historical Park taking you back in time to the early days of the 20th century.
Throughout our day, scenic landscapes and unique landmarks will provide plenty of panoramas to be captured by camera or film to include Quartz Lake, the Delta Flats, the Trans Alaskan Pipeline and the Delta Clear Water River. Grab a bite to eat in one of Delta Junction’s eateries and visit the Sullivan’s Roadhouse where the history of the Alaskan Gold Rush will unfold right in front of your eyes as you witness how pioneers lived in Alaska during the late 1800’s.

Pickup occurs between 8 am and 9 am, depending on the hotel location. We will contact you the day before your tour with your exact pickup time. We can only pick up from hotels within the Fairbanks or North Pole city limits. We do not pick up from the airport. If you are staying at an Air BnB, please contact the office (landline so no texts please) for the closest pick up location. If you are staying outside the city limits, we can pick you up at Walmart or another hotel location. Please call our office to discuss what options are available.

Please ensure that you provide Alaska Wildlife Guide with the location of your accommodation as soon as it is known so that your pick up time can be determined. If you are unsure if you can be picked up from your accommodation location, please contact the Alaska Wildlife Guide office between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday Alaska time on +1 907 712 4529(landline so no texts please). You will be contacted the day before your tour with your exact pick up time or a few days before if your tour is on a Monday so please ensure you provide a working phone number that you can be contacted on at the time of booking. If you do not hear from us, please check your voicemail as we will leave you a message. If your mailbox is not set up or is full we will send you either an email or message in Viator/Tripadvisor so please remember to check your message for your pick up time. Please note we require a minimum number of bookings in order to run this tour. If we do not meet minimum capacity you will either be offered a full refund or an alternative date to take the tour.
