Our guide will take you through the museum inside Vaxholm's Fortress (110 SEK entry included), where you will interact with history as you walk through its military quarters and learn about the story of the fortress. You will also go up a viewpoint tower to take in the beautiful God's view of the archipelago islands all around you (disclaimer: lots of steps and no lift for this part, so it's optional) Explore the grounds of the fortress, including the artillery and machine guns left from previous wars.
You will be guided through the idyllic streets of Vaxholm, with its fishermen red house rows, cute little cafes and shops. You will head into the City Hall of Vaxholm and learn about how the city is run, and explore archipelago nautical heritage as it connects past and present history. You will also stop for a fika break at one of the most traditional pastry shops in the Stockholm archipelago.
