The New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum was officially opened on November 26, 2000. It is the first professional museum in Taiwan with ceramics as its theme. It is committed to the investigation, collection, preservation and maintenance of Taiwan's ceramic culture, engaged in research, collection, exhibition and education promotion, actively promoting international exchanges and cooperation, opening international artists to reside in villages and joining the International Council of Museums, signing sister museums with German and Spanish museums, and obtaining the right to host the "2018 International Ceramics Society World Annual Conference", spreading the beauty of Taiwanese ceramics to the world and showing the vitality of Taiwanese ceramic culture and contemporary ceramic creation.

Introduction to the building of this museum: The architectural form of the Ceramics Museum is a gray exterior presented by fair-faced concrete and steel frames. The high-rise and plain-colored design of the space, as well as a large area of glass curtains, allow the natural light from outside to show the various effects of light transmission in the continuous and layered space composed of fair-faced concrete, washed stone walls, gray stone, and brown wood, so that the indoor ceramic exhibits show rich texture and appearance as the sunlight changes. After stepping onto the stone steps at the entrance of the Ceramics Museum, you can see the sound and visual effects of water created by the large water wall and pool, which makes people feel a sense of calmness and emotional transformation.

  1. First floor: This floor has a total of ceramics collection (cultural product store), consultation service area, ceramic stage, permanent exhibition, sunshine special exhibition room and other areas. In addition to permanent exhibitions and special exhibitions, various performances or experience activities are held from time to time.

  2. Second floor: The permanent exhibition of this museum focuses on the development of Taiwan's ceramics, divided into five major themes: "Transformation into clay", "Looking back at where we came from", "Taiwan Town", "Journey through time and space", and "Future prediction". Various types of exhibits, pictures, images and interactive technology are used to create various display scenarios, leading the audience to leisurely travel in Taiwan's diverse and rich ceramic culture.

  3. Third floor: The special exhibition room on this floor is planned by the museum every year to allow the public to experience the beauty of ceramics.

  4. Basement 1 and 2: The basement 1 has a data center, international lecture hall, children's experience room, pottery gallery, restaurant and other areas, while the basement 2 is a pottery study room. In this area, you can enjoy small theme exhibitions of potters or groups from all over the world, and people over 4 years old can participate in experience courses to experience the fun of playing pottery. In addition to regularly playing videos, the international lecture hall also holds academic and lecture activities from time to time, and also provides venue rental services. The data center is a special library attached to the museum, which collects books, journals and audio-visual materials related to ceramics, art and museums, and is also open to the public to read the library's collection (books and other materials are not available for loan).

The restaurant provides 152 seats with an elegant environment, allowing visitors to enjoy meals and drinks easily.
