Mostar is full of heritage and stories that remain off the beaten track in the Old Town and outside it. The tour revolves around places with interesting and important background stories that define the identity of this city. It includes places significant for in our cultural heritage, art, architecture and historical curiosities. It's about beauty hidden in plain sight. We focus on people, multicultural traditions and everyday habits and experiences that turn a destination into a memorable experience. The itinerary includes the Old Bridge, The Diocese Museum and the Partisan memorial.
We will visit the Partisan Cemetery, the most famous memorial complex designed by Bogdan Bogdanović and one of the most famous WWII memorials in the Balkans. Built in 1965, it still commands attention from artists and visitors alike.
We will visit the museum of the Diocese across the street, in the building designed by the famous architect Zlatko Ugljen with a great collection of contemporary secular and religious art. The museum operates from 9 AM-12 PM/ 4-7 PM (Mon-Fri) and 9 AM-12 PM (Sat).
We will visit the most famous attraction of the city: the Ottoman Old town and the Old Bridge, on the UNESCO list since 2005. The bridge was built in 1566, originally one of the largest vaulted structures in Europe. After its destruction in 1993, a detailed restoration followed and the bridge was reopened in 2004.
