Hassan II Mosque or Grande Mosquée Hassan II is the 2nd largest mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world. It's also the only mosque in the world that stands half over an ocean. Visit Hassan II Mosque and get up-close to this edifice dominating Casablanca's skyline and seaside landscape, and discover how really large and intricate it is. It's also worth noting that Hassan II mosque is the only mosque in Morocco where non-Muslims can enter and wander around the prayer halls on guided tours that are run by the mosque. The tours begin at the mosque's western entrance several times a day.
The restaurant was inspired by the classic black and white film “Casablanca”, filmed in 1942, with leading actors Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman, the Rick’s Cafe from the movie was created on a Hollywood set, and not actually in Casablanca, today you can visit the beautiful recreation of the cafe and see many similarities between the fictional Rick's and the real one! The cafe opened in 2004, locals and tourists from all around the globe have been loving it ever since, we're sure you will too! The restaurant has two levels, with two bars, two dining spaces, and a lounge that plays Casablanca the movie on repeat.
If you're an architecture fan, you will want to spend some time in Casablanca's downtown district, more particularly the Mohamed V Square. Place Mohamed V is the central plaza of Casablanca and is home to many of the city's important official buildings, including the Palace of Justice and the main Bank of Morocco. These building facades, and many more all don the neo-Moorish style (also known as Mauresque) the downtown district is home to plenty of preserved facades of this style.
