The trip starts in the city of Cusco at 8 a.m. Heading to Limatambo during the tour we will visit two beautiful and interesting archaeological centers Quillarumiyoc and Tarawasi, which were possibly used as astronomical observatories by the Incas. We will continue to the town of Limatambo where we will have lunch in a local restaurant.
The adventure begins with a panoramic view of the community of Chonta located at 3,400 meters and the snow-capped mountains of Salkantay and Humantay. After walking for about an hour and a half on a beautiful trail, we will finally arrive at the Huaco viewpoint, which is located on the right bank of the Apurimac River canyon at 3,350 meters above sea level.
From the viewpoint we will have a spectacular view of the Apurimac Canyon and we will have the opportunity to appreciate the impressive flight of the Andean condor in its natural habitat. The Condor is the largest flamingos bird of prey in the world, considered a sacred bird by the Incas. With a little luck we can also observe some birds such as eagles, hawks, white-tailed deer.
