One of 17 Jomon Historical sites in Northern Japan which was listed on UNESCO World Heritage, Omori Katsuyama Stone Circle is located at the foot of holy Mt.Iwaki. In addintion, Hirosaki castle is one of 12 remained Samurai period castle. Nearby the castle, there stands a complex including restaurants, local festival display, Japanese garden and souvenir shop where you can feel whole Hirosaki culture.
Stone Circle at the foot of sacred Mt.Iwaki. In Jomon times, Jomon people gatherd here and hold festival in this stone circle. You would touched by the sight of combination of the stone circle and holy mountain. Real stones are covered by modern covering for protection. You can see copies of stones that is placed exactly at the same locations.
Jomon Artifacts found around Omori Katsuyama site are displayed in this facility. Lots of potteries, clay figurins are seen here.
Local festival, hand crafts, Japanese garden, souvenir shop, restaurant. You can enjoy local food set meal here. After the meal, you can enjoy local festival music performance in the neputa hall, moreover you can experience drumming of festival music. Several fork crafts can be seen at crafts shops. There is a workshop you can make some of these crafts too. Shamisen, a three stringed banjo like instrument is played energeticly at Shamisen hall. A Japanese garden Yo-ki en is placed at the center of the facility.
