This full-day activity is more than just going to the Kui Buri National Park to see the wildlife. You will get involved with activities with local people who live on the border of the National Park and experience how they are learning to co-exist with elephants. You will understand how they are earning an income by growing crops and products that repel elephants who previously and unknowingly would destroy their crops. This is about real people, a real problem, and building a sustainable future for this community and the elephants that live next to their farms. You will make lip balm from local bees' wax, tie dye using local soil and make lunch with the locals, local style.
After a 90 minute drive you arrive the the village of Ruam Thai and the HQ of the Tom Yum Project. This is where you learn about the project and how they are helping villagers co-exist with elephants. You will also make lip balm, do tie dyeing, cook your own lunch with products from the local area. You will work side-by-side with the local community.
After a 30minute drive you will arrive at the National Park. In an open air vehicle you go on safari into the depths of the national park. All animals and birds are living in their natural habitats and hence from day to day, what you will see, will be different. You will be on the lookout for elephants, gaurs, deer or wild boar along with reptiles and a large habitation of birds. You will then hop back into the van for the 90 minute journey back to Hua Hin.
You will make your own way to the meeting points
