'Feedback has been that this is a fun way to see the history this area offers. As we enter Merida, we first visit the centro historico district. Here, you'll find various colonial residences and structures that line the streets; these buildings lie in different states of disrepair and provide a glimpse at the history of the area, which has seen its share of revolts.
Some of the major sites you'll visit include the Cathedral de San IIdefonso, Montejo's House and the Government Palace. These structures date as far back as the late 1500s, so you can see how the city's architecture progress over the centuries.
