A centuries-old art known as Tarkashi is a craft of inlaying fine metal wires into wood to create stunning geometric and floral patterns. The workshop is led by a master artist Mohan Lal Sharma, a national, state and Shilp Guru award-winning artist who has decades of experience and offers a deep knowledge about the technique, history and cultural heritage of Tarkashi. Hosted at his studio you will learn this process and leave with your own personalised memento.
This immersive workshop offers the unique opportunity to learn directly from Mohan Lal Sharma, a master of Tarkashi art. Throughout the session, he will demonstrate each step of the process, guiding you in the intricate craft of inlaying metal wires into wood. You’ll actively engage in the Tarkashi process, from selecting the wood to designing and creating your own art piece. At the end of the workshop, you’ll take home a personalized Tarkashi creation, such as a keychain or paperweight, as a special souvenir.
